Ongoing Projects

Work is currently underway on several key segments:

  • I-55 Corridor: Bridge and pavement improvements are in progress between I-44 and River Des Peres. In Jefferson County, corridor upgrades include adding a third lane and improvements to 27 bridges.

  • I-64: The westbound Daniel Boone Bridge over the Missouri River is undergoing rehabilitation.
  • I-270: Bridge widening is taking place over Conway and Ladue roads.
  • Route 61/67 (Lindbergh Boulevard): Roadway improvements between Swan Drive and Route D are also advancing.

Several projects are in planning or pre-construction phases:

  • I-44: More than 30 bridges are scheduled for maintenance, with work expected to begin in upcoming phases.
  • I-64 and I-170: Sign replacements are planned to modernize corridor signage.
  • I-55: Bridge replacements are planned for Loughborough Avenue and Weber Road.
  • I-64 Outer Road at Dardenne Creek: A bridge replacement is scheduled.
  • Envision I-70: Preliminary studies are ongoing as part of a long-term plan to reimagine I-70.
  • St. Charles County: Widening and realignment efforts are planned on I-70, including updates to the I-70/I-64/US 40/US 61 interchange.

Recently Completed Projects

For reference, several significant projects have recently reached completion:

  • I-44: Replacement of the Broadway bridge
  • Poplar Street Bridge: Upgrades and modernization
  • I-64 at Jefferson Avenue: Completion of a full interchange project

These ongoing, future, and completed Missouri highway and bridge projects reflect a statewide commitment to improving safety, reducing congestion, and modernizing infrastructure on some of the region’s most vital travel routes.
